The former mill
Dinkholder Mill
The former mill facility, also known as Bröders Mill, is located on the Dinkholderbach in the Dinkholder Valley.
The imposing residential building of the mill at Dinkholder Street 3 features decorative half-timbering from 1675 and a corner bay window. The house is one of the significant half-timbered buildings from the second half of the 17th century along the Middle Rhine. The mill's equipment dates from the first half of the 20th century.
In the side valleys of the Rhine, multiple mills were often operated consecutively along the streams. Some of these mills represented importance and wealth through large, often artistically adorned half-timbered buildings.
Today, the mill houses a carpentry and joinery workshop for historical building materials and restoration work.
